A thousand extinquished points of light
A thousand dead Americans in Iraq, most after President George W. Bush stood on an aircraft carrier last year and declared "Mission Accomplished" for a photo op.
A thousand dead. The youngest was 18. The oldest 59. Most under 30. Young men and women in the prime, dying in a land far away for a war that most Americans neither support nor understand.
A thousand dead.
For what?
Why?
