Let's just start calling George W. Bush "GWB." That makes him easier to compare with LBJ, the last American president whose legacy ended up in the toilet because of an ill-conceived war.
Vietnam led LBJ to bow out of running for Prez in 1968. GWB is already in his second term so he's on his laast legs anyway but, like LBJ, he is faced with a no-win scenario in a war that his successor will probably have to deal with and come up with a way out. Richard Nixon found a not-so-glorious way out of Vietnam and our exit from Iraq will be no-less humiliating when it comes.
Perhaps, if GWB had not sat out the war in the safety of the Texas Air Guard, he might have learned the lessons of Vietnam.
And maybe where will be pork in the treetops by morning.

Don't look now but, between the Energy Bill and the Highway Bill, the bough's are already "pork" heavy and about to break.
The big question is, if Asia (primarily China) is in no big hurry to buy our debt anymore, as a result of them being "forced" to float the yuan, just who the hell does congress and the WH think is going to buy the bonds and treasuries necessary to finance those pork-fests?
